Marshall boss prepares for BEN skydive

Skydive_620Two weeks today Marshall Motors chief executive Daksh Gupta will take part in a 10,000 feet skydive in a bid to raise over £100,000 for BEN.

The skydive is part of a new BEN annual fundraising challenge for senior executives in the automotive industry.

The Industry Leader Challenge sees one individual each year take on a personal fundraising target for industry charity.

Once completed they will pass the ‘baton’ onto a newly nominated individual who will aim raise more money than the previous challenger.

Gupta, a member of the BEN board of trustees, will perform the skydive on 22 July at the Hinton Skydive Centre in Brackley, Northants. He was passed the challenge baton by IAM chair Sarah Sillars who raised £38,000 for BEN after climbing Kilimanjaro.

Gupta said he has received “overwhelming” support for his challenge with donations from Eden Motor Group, HR Owen, Sytner, Volvo, Honda, Auto Trader and carwow.

“My goal is to raise six figures for BEN. It’s ambitious, but with the help of industry manufacturers, suppliers and friends, I know I can do it,” said Gupta.

“So far people have been very generous, with a supplier already committing £10,000, and a manufacturer and finance company committing £5,000 each. We’re well on the way.”

BEN has already identified the next leader who will take on a challenge in 2017, with the name to be revealed at the annual BEN Ball in December.
