Banas dairy plant working at full capacity, Banaskantha to have another 25 lakh litre dairy

Palanpur: Banaskantha district of North Gujarat will have another dairy for processing 25 lakh litre milk. This announcement was made by dairy’s chairman and minister of state in Gujarat government Shri Shankarbhai Chaudhary who is also a local MLA elected from this district.
Speaking at dairy’s annual general meeting of Banas Dairy and Banas Bank at Badarpura oil mill, Chaudhary said Banas dairy has witnessed over 40 lakh litre arrival of milk and it is likely to increase even more in future. Therefore there’s a need to set up another dairy which is scalable upto 25 lakh litre daily capacity.
He said Banas dairy was started with only 10 milk producing groups. Today there are 1250 groups and Banas has emerged as Asia’s largest dairy.
In 48th annual general meeting of Banas dairy, over 20,000 farmers, cattle owners had gathered.
Women cooperative members who contributed Rs 10 lakh or above value of milk were given prizes of Rs 25,000, Rs 21,000 and Rs 15,000 under Banas Lakshmi scheme.
It should be mentioned that among all districts of Gujarat, Banaskantha stands first in terms of milk production.
MoS in centre and local MP Haribhai Chaudhary was present in this annual general meeting.
