Bonalu festivities begin

Telangana Ministers T. Padmarao, A. Indrakaran Reddy and Talasani Srinivas Yadav visited the Jagadamba temple in Golconda and proffered silk clothes to the deity, on the occasion of ‘Bonalu’ festivities which began with special worship on Thursday.

Mr. Padamarao described the festival as an ancient tradition carried forward by the Telangana society, and expressed happiness at being part of the celebrations.

He promised support and proper arrangements for the festival.

Meanwhile, as part of Bonalu festival in the Old City of Hyderabad, the Samuhika Kumkumarchana by women devotees will begin at 11.30 am on Friday at historic Akkanna Madanna Mahankali Mandiram, Haribowli, Shalibanda.

The Saamuhika Kunkumarchana will take place on all Fridays in the month of Aashadam and concludes on the first Friday in the month of Shravanam on July 8, 15, 22, 29 and August 5.

Hundreds of women devotees will participate and pray for the welfare of the people and to save the Hyderabad City and the country.
