Country star Nathan Carter has lined up Wanna Dance as the latest single from his number one album Stayin' Up All Night and has given TEN an exclusive sneak peek at the video ahead of its full release on Friday.

Following his double win at the RTÉ Irish Country Music Awards last month, where he picked up awards for Live Act of the Year and Ireland's All-Time Favourite Country Song (Wagon Wheel), Carter is taking a break at present before getting back on the road next week to continue his Irish tour.

"I miss gigging when I'm not gigging," he said. "This summer we still have a lot of festivals and gigs to be doing. That's the main thing for me - gigging. When I'm off I miss it. I don't mind the travelling, and I enjoy meeting the people as well."

If fans are missing his gigs, the video for Wanna Dance should help remind them what they're missing.

Carter recently played down his heartthrob status in Ireland, telling TEN he finds it "a bit embarrassing" and that he doesn't receive as much attention from female fans as people may think.

"I don't really see that, to be honest," he said of being called a heartthrob. "But it's a big compliment and I suppose you just take it as it comes."

"It's always lovely to meet people who have made an effort to come and see you," he continued. "It makes it [playing live] a bit more special. After every gig if I'm allowed - there's some venues which don't allow you - I try to get out for an hour, if not more, and say 'hello'."
