Woman immolates self; husband, in-laws booked

Rajkot: A 32-year-old woman Vanita Gangani died after she immolated herself in Udhyognagar area of the city suspecting that her husband was having an illicit relationship with his sister-in-law.
Father of the deceased woman, Soma Koli, lodged a complaint with the Mahila Police on Wednesday accusing Vanita's husband Ketan, his brother Kamlesh and his wife Savita, of harassment and forcing Vanita to commit suicide.
According to police, Vanita suspected that Ketan was having an affair with Savita. When she confronted Ketan with her doubt, she was rebuked and faced harassment at the hands of Ketan, Kamlesh and Savita, they added.
On Tuesday evening, Vanita doused herself with kerosene and immolated herself at the residence in Udhyognagar when she was alone. Police said they have registered the case and are investigating the matter.
