Woman, son hit by mini-truck die

A 37-year-old woman and her six-year-old son were killed when a speeding mini-truck hit the motorcycle on which they were travelling, from behind on Chotila Road on Wednesday morning.

Rajkot: A 37-year-old woman and her six-year-old son were killed when a speeding mini-truck hit the motorcycle on which they were travelling, from behind on Chotila Road on Wednesday morning.
The deceased were identified as Hansa Gohil and her son Jignesh. The woman's husband Raju Gohil (40) sustained minor injuries. The family was residing in Shastrinagar locality in Gandhigram area of Rajkot city.
According to police, the trio were going to offer prayers at a temple of Chiloda road on their bike, when the mini-truck, without registration number, mowed them down from behind.
Jignesh died on the spot, while Hansa succumbed to injuries at Rajkot civil hospital.
The driver of the mini-truck has been booked and further investigation is on.
