Zirakpur: It will take at least three more days to repair one side of the Ghaggar Bridge near Bhankarpur which was damaged on Sunday evening even as thousands of commuters continued to face inconvenience on Wednesday. Due to this damage on the one side of the damaged Ghaggar river bridge, one side has been closed by officials keeping safety in the mind. Due to closure of the half road, huge traffic jam occurs on this road as this is one of the busiest stretches as it connects Delhi and almost entire Haryana with Tricity.

Commuters are facing harassment at this place and situation becomes worse during peak hours. This national highway is already under construction and with the damage at the bridge especially during monsoon, sides of this highway all under water. Station House Officer (SHO) of traffic police Gurwinder Singh said, "One side of the bridge was closed due to damage and it will take three more days as per the company that is working for repair of this highway. We are trying our best to avoid problems are traffic is mostly smooth on one side." Infrastructure company officials said that re-construction of the bridge is under process and we will complete in three days.
