Two held for ‘duping woman of Rs 33 lakh’

Police on Wednesday arrested two persons who allegedly tricked a woman into parting with Rs. 32.99 lakh by leading her to believe that she got a prize money of Rs. 53 lakh.

An amount of Rs. 1.65 lakh was seized from the arrested Mohd. Javed and Jiyauddin Saifi, both residents of Delhi. The accused duo rang up the woman from different numbers congratulating her on being selected for the prize money of private companies.

Persuading her to secure the money, they asked her to deposit the money for processing and other formalities. Based on her complaint, the Hyderabad Cyber Crime Station sleuths analysed the call data record of the accused and the transactions of their bank accounts and caught them.

91 kg of ganja seized

Hyderabad Police Commissioner’s Task Force (East) officials on Wednesday arrested three persons and seized 91 kg of ganja from their possession. While G. Ramakrishna and G. Babu of Maripeda in Warangal district were caught at Afzalgunj, the third, A. Sailu ,was nabbed at Sultanbazar.
