City schools excel in IB class XII results

The International Baccalaureate (IB) on Wednesday declared results for the Diploma Programme (DP) students (class XII) who appeared for the exam in May. Over 3,332 students from the country took the examination. Most of the city school’s students have scored above the average diploma score

MUMBAI: The International Baccalaureate (IB) on Wednesday declared results for the Diploma Programme (DP) students (class XII) who appeared for the exam in May. Over 3,332 students from the country took the examination. Most of the city school’s students have scored above the average diploma score.
“Over 370 schools and 15,800 students took part in the May 2016 session in the Asia Pacific region.
They achieved an average diploma score of 33.16 points (of 45 maximum possible), with 54 students achieving a perfect score. With more than 800 examination papers processed in 76 languages, this was the largest exam session conducted at the IB since the introduction of the DP,” stated a press release issued by the board. India sends most students among the Asian countries. The pass rate in Asia Pacific was 89.71% as compared to a global success rate of 79.28%.
Of the 54 students, who achieved a perfect score, in the Asia Pacific region, one student, Chirag Malkani, was from Dhirubhai Ambani International School (DAIS). The students from DAIS have achieved outstanding scores, for the 12th year in a row, with school's the average score at 39 points. In all, 101 students have completed the IB Diploma and 4 students completed the IB Course. Of those, seven students achieved 44 points, seven students obtained 43 points and 46 students obtained 40 points or above.
