Boro eyeing up moves for Van Persie and Valdes

Premier League new boys Middlesbrough are rumoured to be lining up shock moves for Dutch striker Robin Van Persie and ex-Barcelona keeper Victor Valdes.

Van Persie scored 16 goals for Fenerbahce last season following his move from Manchester United, but the Turkish outfit are said to be willing to listen to offers for the 32-year-old and sources close to Van Persie have reportedly said talks with Boro are underway.

Also on their radar is Valdes, who endured a miserable 18 months at Old Trafford before being released last week but would still represent a major coup for Boro should they persuade him to move to the Riverside.
