Stayzilla.com, an aggregator for verified homestays in India, and Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB) have signed an MOU to jointly promote and market homestays in Uttarakhand. The MoU was signed in the presence of Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat; Shailesh Bagauli, secretary, tourism and CEO, UTDB; and Ankit Rastogi, vice-president, marketplace, Stayzilla.com. The region is considered an ideal place for increasing homestays since tourist demand outnumbers the stay options available. Increasing and promoting homestays is also expected to support local economy.

Stayzilla recently signed an MoU with Madhya Pradesh for joint promotion of homestays in the state.

Bagauli said, “These are interesting times for Uttarakhand tourism with growing influx of tourists from across the country and we are working towards strengthening our homestay ecosystem. We believe that our partnership with Stayzilla will be beneficial for offering best-in-class stay experience for our tourists.”

Under this agreement, Stayzilla will support verification procedures and jointly boost homestays across the state. All homestays registered with UTDB will receive technological and operational support to run the homestays. In addition, Stayzilla and UTDB will conduct education and training sessions for UTDB registered homestays on practices such as online usage, content management, operations and expense management.

Stayzilla has been conducting sensitisation workshops for promoting homestays, and bed and breakfast outfits across Uttarakhand, in cities such as Dehradun, Haridwar, Almorah, Nainital, Gopeshwar, Munsiyari, Rudraprayag, Chamba, Uttarkashi, Tehri, Rampur, Rudrapur, Mussoorie, Dhanaulti and Lansdowne. The company also has over 500 verified homestays in the region.

“At Stayzilla we are excited to collaborate with Uttarakhand Tourism for promoting comfortable homestays in the region. The true essence, practices, traditions and natural ecosystem of any region can only be experienced through staying in homestays,” commented Rastogi.
