Here are five reasons to watch "Kasaba":

Mammootty the Megastar

"Kasaba" being a Mammootty-starrer is the major highlight of the action thriller. It is the second release of the megastar this year after the crime thriller "Puthiya Niyamam," which was opened to positive responses from the audience. Since the megastar enjoys a huge fan following in Kerala, the film is expected to make roaring collection on the opening day at the Kerala box office.

Mammootty's police avatar

Mammootty plays the role of Circle Inspector Rajan Zachariah in the film. Be it Inspector Balram, or Ramanadhan IPS, the megastar has shined in cop avatars many times before and he dons the uniform for "Kasaba" after a gap of five years. However, the movie's director Nithin Renji Panicker has claimed that it will not be the usual action thriller in which the hero delivers fiery dialogues even though the filmmaker is being inspired by his father Renji Panicker's action thrillers. Looking at the teaser of the film, Mammootty's character has both serious and comedy elements in the film.

Nithin Renji Panicker

We have seen hit action thrillers of director Renji Panicker and the audience is eagerly awaiting to know the work of his son Nithin, who has assisted his father and filmmaker Shaji Kailas in several projects.

Varalaxmi Sarathkumar's debut

With "Kasaba," Tollywood actor Sarathkumar's daughter Varalaxmi is making her acting debut in Malayalam. In a recent television interview, as part of "Kasaba" promotions, Nithin said that the role played by Varalaxmi has a negative shade. Her character Kamala is a matured, bold and stubborn female who tries to get whatever she needs. The movie also has Neha Saxena in the female lead role.

Over-hype

"Kasaba" has become one of the most-anticipated films of Mammootty after the over hype the action thriller received following the release of its first-look poster and official teaser. All the posters of the film were heavily trolled by social media users, helping the movie to reach out to a wide audience. The pre-release hype has raised expectations of the audience from "Kasaba" and if whether the movie lives up to those expectations is something we need to wait and watch in the coming days. When International Business Times, India, conducted a survey asking if "Kasaba" will fare well at the box office, 47.78% of the readers voted favouring the movie to emerge as a winner at box office. Approximately 40% of the respondents think that it will become the highest grossing movie of the megastar.
