Ex-Labor Minister Yamaguchi to join Tokyo gubernatorial race

Former Labor Minister Toshio Yamaguchi, 75, told a press conference July 5 that he would be running in the upcoming Tokyo gubernatorial race.
Yamaguchi stated that he would scale back the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics by curbing wasteful spending. He also said he would slash the governor's salary and work toward correcting the wage gap between men and women.
