New party formed

M. Rajamani, a former functionary of Kongunadu Munnetra Kazhagam, has formed a new political party, the Kongunadu Vyavasaigal Katchi.

Mr. Rajamani, who hails from Alagumalai here, said that the new party was formed with an initial membership of 160 who were involved in agriculture and allied activities in Tirupur, Salem, Dharmapuri, Karur, Namakkal, Dindigul, The Nilgiris, Coimbatore, and Erode districts.

He is the general secretary of the new party.

He was earlier the State secretary of workers’ wing of the Kongunadu Munnetra Kazhagam. He had floated Dheeran Chennimalai Peravai four years ago.

“The Kongunadu Vyavasaigal Katchi has been formed with the objective of taking forward the issues of farmers more effectively to the notice of the Union and State Governments,” said Mr. Rajamani.
