Will review all cases related to Dalits, says AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal
"The dreams which Babasaheb saw for Dalits, and for which he made ample provisions while writing the constitution, are yet to be fulfilled, and once voted to power, AAP would accomplish such dreams by providing a level playing field to Dalits in every sphere," said Kejriwal.
Chandigarh: AAP national convener and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said dreams of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar are yet to be fulfilled, and previous governments in the state and Centre always used Dalits as their vote banks only. "After formation of AAP's government in Punjab, a special investigation team (SIT) will be constituted to review all cases pertaining to atrocities against Dalits, and false cases registered against Dalits would be withdrawn on merit basis," said Kejriwal, while addressing a gathering in Khanna.

"The dreams which Babasaheb saw for Dalits, and for which he made ample provisions while writing the constitution, are yet to be fulfilled, and once voted to power, AAP would accomplish such dreams by providing a level playing field to Dalits in every sphere," said Kejriwal.
Referring to the suicides of Dalit youth Rohit Vemula, Kejriwal said it was a shame on politicians, who created such circumstances that forced such a bright and intelligent Dalit student to take the extreme step of suicide.
The Delhi CM said atrocities against dalits had increased manifold during the SAD -BJP regime in the state, which could be witnessed from the plight of a dalit (Bhim Tank), whose limbs were chopped off merely because he refused to work with a liquor baron Akali leader. "Earlier, Babasaheb Ambedkar did commendable work for the upliftment of Dalits, while writing the Indian Constitution, which was marvellously carried forward by Kanshi Ram, by getting all dalits united to fight for their rights," said Kejriwal, adding that the time was now ripe for Dalits to get their dues by playing a signficant role in electing their new government in Punjab.
