Man falls to his death at Medupi power station

Lephalale - A man fell to his death at Medupi power station in Lephalale, Limpopo, on Tuesday morning, Eskom said.

The contractor fell while he was working in a construction area at the power station, spokesperson Khulu Phasiwe said.

His identity has not yet been disclosed. Investigations were underway to determine what happened.

Construction work in the area was stopped.

Phasiwe said standard procedure was to send the workers home to ensure their safety and to let the investigation continue undisturbed.

“The incident should have no effect on power supply,” Phasiwe said.
