The study of the sociological agency YouGov and the Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR) shows that the  level of business confidence has sharply decreased in the UK after the referendum on Brexit, BBC Russian Service reported.

The share of the companies which are pessimistic about the prospects for the British economy, has doubled during the week after the vote. Prior to the referendum, this indicator was 25%, while after it rose to 49%.

The decline in business levels may force companies to abandon investments and hire new employees.

YouGov also stated growth of negative moods among consumers last week. The consumer confidence has decreased to the level of May, 2013.
