DDCA to Distribute Entire IPL 'Prize Money' Among Its Staff

DDCA and Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) were awarded Rs. 25 lakh for having the 'Best Ground and Pitch' during the IPL. DDCA got its share of Rs 12.5 lakh.

New Delhi: The Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) is all set to disburse the entire Indian Premier League (IPL) prize money of Rs 12.5 lakh among its 112 groundstaff and chief curator Ankit Datta after getting a go-ahead from Justice Mukul Mudgal, who was its observer during the cash-rich league last season.

The DDCA and Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) were awarded Rs. 25 lakh for having the ‘Best Ground and Pitch’. DDCA got its share of Rs 12.5 lakh.

“We have received the official approval from Justice Mudgal so that we can divide the entire prize money amount among the groundstaff as well as the general staff, who worked tirelessly during the IPL to make it a success. Our young curator Ankit deserves special mention for the effort he has put in and will be rewarded with Rs. 1 lakh,” DDCA Head of Cricket Operations, Siddharth Verma, told PTI on Tuesday.

Ankit also came in for special praise from Indian captain Virat Kohli during the South Africa series.

The 11 permanent groundstaff are being rewarded with Rs 40,000 each while seven temporary groundstaff, who were specially hired, will be paid Rs. 30,000 each. Two helpers will be getting Rs. 20,000 while in a first ever move, 92 DDCA general staff will also be paid Rs. 5000 each.
