In an effort to remedy his midfield headaches, coach Clinton Larsen has been on the lookout for players to add to the squad and Phiri was one of three on their radar.

Phiri first caught the eye when he captained Chicken Inn during this season’s Caf Champions League preliminary round match against current league champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

“Yes, he is another player who has been signed by Arrows,” a source told KickOff.com.

Meanwhile, it is very unlikely that Arrows will be able to retain the services of Gladwin Shitolo next season after he spent last season at the club on loan from Orlando Pirates.

Larsen has not been shy to heap praise on the versatile player in the past, but it seems as though he will have to do without him since it is believed that he will feature in Mushin Ertugral’s plans for the coming season.

Another player who was on loan to the club last season is Rodney Ramagalela from Sundowns, although there have been no assurances as to whether he will be heading back to his parent club or not.
