Distribute 90cr to farmers: HC

Indore: The Indore bench of High Court on Monday passed in an interim order instructing Mandsaur district collector and MP revenue department to distribute Rs 90 crore to the farmers who had faced loses due to scanty rainfall in 2015.
The division bench of Justice PK Jaiswal and Justice Vivek Rusia directed the principal secretary (revenue) and district collector of Mandsaur to file a compliance report within 15 days.Anil Trivedi, counsel for petitioner Ram Singh told TOI that according to notification issued by state government on November 30, 2015, farmers from 23 districts of state were to receive compensation for their loses according to size of their farms. Compensation was given to all 22 districts of the state except Mandsaur.
