BVP to reach out to school students

Aim is to mould children into socially responsible citizens

Bharat Vikas Parishad plans to reach out to one lakh schoolchildren during this year to mould them into socially responsible citizens, according to its National Additional Organising secretary Suresh Jain.

Inaugurating the BVP Ongole unit on Monday, he said national group song competition would be held as also ‘Bharat Ko Jano’ event to create awareness among members of GenX on the rich cultural heritage of Bharat and inculcate patriotism in them.

“Our goal is to inspire the children to contribute their mite for development of the nation in all fields--cultural, social, academic, moral, national and spiritual- culminating in physically, economically and morally strong India,” he said.

The voluntary organisation with 1,300 branches across the country had chalked out plans to focus on spreading its activities to South India in a big way, he added after installing the Ongole unit office-bearers led by its president Bezawada Chakaravarthi.

“We will also provide free of cost artificial limbs to needy persons by holding health camps under the aegis of BVP branches,” he added.
