Dehradun, July 4
Dr Jasvinder Singh, general secretary of the Uttarakhand Youth Congress, has said party workers of the Dehradun Cantt constituency will start an awareness campaign in the region from July 11. The party will make people aware of the works of the Congress-led state government.
Dr Singh, while addressing mediapersons here, said, “The state government has launched many welfare schemes. Chief Minister Harish Rawat is trying his best to benefit each and every section of society but the Congress has failed to spread awareness among the people about its works, due to which people are ignorant about the government schemes. It’s party workers’ responsibility to disseminate information about welfare schemes.”
He alleged that the MLAs of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) were trying to block the government schemes in their constituencies.
The Congress has prepared a booklet based on the active schemes and achievements of the government. This will be distributed among the people during the campaign, he added.
Sumitra Dhyani, Rajesh Pundir, Nirmal Rathi, Jitendra Taneja and Jagdish Dhiman were also present.
