BEVERAGES MD SHINES IN SRIC MONTHLY MUG BY ASHMOND NZIMA

MBABANE – Veteran golfer and Swaziland Beverages Managing Director, Zama Kunene still has the verve to leave a mark after shining in this month’s edition of the SRIC Month Mug golf tournament.

Seasoned golfers defied the very cold weather conditions to take to the Mbabane Golf Club’s greens in pursuit of silverware in the tournament annually sponsored to a tune of E70 000 by Swaziland Royal Insurance Corporation (SRIC)  on Saturday. Kunene’s nett score of 69 was unmatched but surrendered the main prize, especially the trophy, to runner-up, Sabelo Sibondza. Kunene only got the guest prize as he was not a member of the Mbabane Golf Club.

Willard Mkhwanazi, whose name has been synonymous with podium finishes, once again proved unstoppable, carding the best gross score of 73 in the event played in medal play format. He further left a mark in the novelties, claiming the nearest to the pin on holes eight and 17.

The winners once again got fabulous prizes, mainly electrical appliances, courtesy of the giant insurance company. Well-known golfers were also at the fairway and they included Sam ‘Styles’ Richards, Evart Madlopha, and Mncedisi Ntombini, among others.
