Japan and South Korea will resume anti-submarine training at the Naval Air Facility Atsugi military base in Japan's Kanagawa prefecture. The training is part of exchange activities which run until Thursday.

Lockheed P-3 Maritime patrol aircraft from both countries will make their maiden flights during the anti-submarine drills. Since 2010, Japan and South Korea have conducted annual drills.

This year's training session is the first since 2013, when drills were suspended due to deteriorating relations between the two countries.
