Kochi: A flower was embossed on a canvas that covered the main incidents in Helen Keller's life in such a way that the visually impaired could experience the painting.
This novel idea, ArtD'Hope, is part of an art exhibition organized by a group of Kochi-based non-profit association of artists to raise funds for School for the Blind in Aluva.
The 10x7 feet painting and 13 other pencil sketches of Helen Keller, exhibited at the Art Corridor at Le Meridian, were unveiled by collector M G Rajamanikyam on Keller's birthday on June 27.

"It is the only painting till date that captures the salient moments of Keller in a single opus. After a month-long research by the team, the painting work started on April 23, 2016, at Mattanchery IF Gallery and was completed over a span of two months," said director of ArtD'Hope Nidheesh Chandran.
