Bhopal: A braveheart engineer foiled a loot bid in posh Habibganj area on Sunday afternoon. He caught the looter with help of passers-by and handed him over to cops. A case of loot bid was filed at Govindpura police station by junior engineer Santosh V, 40.
The complainant was returning with his son Nishan to his residence at Railway Colony near Habibganj bus stand after a birthday bash at C21 mall by a bus.
When the bus reached Habibganj bus stand, he suddenly realised that a youth, Tarik, 20, was standing behind him and trying to take out his mobile set from the pocket. Soon, it led to an argument and later a scuffle between Santosh and Tarik. When the two were trading blows, another youth Asif Khan, 21, joined Tarik and rained blows on Santosh. It was around this time when someone from the crowd called up police.
By this time, the duo managed to escape the scene in a waiting auto. Soon dial 100 and Govindpura police reached the spot and gathered information from Santosh. Police caught them near Sanchi plant. During interrogation, it turned out the auto driver was also involved in the act. All three were arrested. Auto driver was identified as Parvez, 21.
