Three more holiday club staff booked for cheating

Three more persons have lodged complaints at the Kharghar police station against a holiday club for allegedly cheating them by offering discounts on domestic and international packages.

NAVI MUMBAI: Three more persons have lodged complaints at the Kharghar police station against a holiday club for allegedly cheating them by offering discounts on domestic and international packages.
The APMC police had earlier arrested Sohail Shaikh, 26, Arafat Momin, 22, Anurag Lohare, 23, Sanjeevkumar Wagholi, 32, and Nishantsingh Mahara, 22, all employees of the Priority International Holiday Club Pvt Ltd, which has its office in Satra Plaza building in Sector 19D, Vashi.

The club claims to have tie-ups with five-star hotels and resorts where members can avail of huge discounts by showing vouchers given to them. But the club does not provide the services or refund the membership amount, customers who were cheated, alleged. The club claimed its customers signed an agreement which mentioned that the amount was non-refundable.
The Kharghar police had booked Parvez Sayyad, Priti Talandage and Bharat Lote, employees of the club’s rental office in Landmark Building in Sector 7, Kharghar, for cheating three persons collectively of around Rs 3.5 lakh. But the accused are at large. Kharghar resident, Kavita Naik, alleged she had been duped of Rs 1.8 lakh for a couple’s membership, while her friend was cheated of Rs 95,000.
The APMC police had arrested five employees from the Vashi office after a complaint was lodged by Naresh Kawale, 30, a software company employee and resident of Vashi, who was cheated of Rs 95,000.
Nine victims, duped collectively of around Rs 7 lakh, have lodged complaints at the APMC police station.
