The Tourism department will develop a tourism hub at Gajaldoba near here, realising the dreams of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Named ‘Bhorer Alo’ (morning glow) by the CM, the world class hub will come up on a land of 208 acres.
Of the projected Rs 2000-3000 crore cost, Rs 130 crore has already been mobilised for the project which will have a bird watching centre, boat riding facilities, a great aquatic collection in the large water body, jungle safari with elephant rides and even a golf course – catering to travellers of all segments, Tourism minister Goutam Dev told reporters here after a high level meeting.
“We will also install mobile towers for better connectivity and later go for wi-fi,” he said adding industrialists are showing lots of interest in the golf course.
The meeting, participated by officials of tourism, PWD, Railways, Forest department, also discussed ways of involving local youth in the ambitious project which will turn around the economy of the region.
