SRK and Sallu chat the night away…

The Khan dosts, Salman and Shah Rukh Khan, went viral on the internet early on Friday after the latter shared a selfie of them cycling down Bandstand, with SRK’s son Aryan riding behind them. Fans were happy to see the Bandra boys on a bike ride and not averse to being clicked. But some did raise a pertinent question: While Sallu was casually dressed in tracks and a black tee and the Khan kid in grey sweats, why was the Badshash looking like a corporate honcho in a white shirt, formal grey trousers and a matching waistcoat?
Mirror has learnt that SRK was at a corporate brand event launching a new décor collection the same evening. After it was over, he called bhai, who had returned from an event in Madrid earlier in the week, and was eager to catch up with his B-town bestie.
The two stars had buried the hatchet after a decade of face-offs at MP buddy Baba Siddique’s 2013 Iftaar party. Their jadoo ki jhappi grabbed headlines and was followed with more bonhomie the following year. This year, both attended Baba’s annual bash but didn’t run into each other, Shah Rukh coming in late, well after Sallu had left. Perhaps that’s why the two decided to catch up before the month of Ramzan came to an end.
SRK arrived at Galaxy Apartments at around 11 pm. Sallu laid out biryani, kebabs and the best of delicacies for him. The health conscious Badshah chose to nibble only on munchies but stayed with his friend all through the night chatting. The next morning after sehri, the pre-dawn meal eaten before prayers and followed by a day of fasting, bhai suggested a cycle ride. SRK instantly agreed and called his son. Aryan pedalled over from Mannat while Sallu got his security to pull out two of his favourite rides. He then laced up his sneakers, while SRK kept his leather shoes on and the trio hit the streets around 5:45am, followed by Sallu’s BMW and two bodyguards on a scooty much to the amused delight of early morning joggers and autorickshaw drivers. “They rode around for around half-an-hour with the two actors chatting animatedly and laughing intermittently, hardly breaking into a sweat, Aryan following closely. It was raining, but nobody minded,” adds the source. Two photographers who had spotted SRK entering Sallu’s home had hung around all night to snap him leaving in the morning. When the actors were done with their ride, SRK waved out to one of them and then gave Sallu a hug just for the camera.
