Mayor blames Bapat for no additional water cuts in Pune

Pune: Mayor Prashant Jagtap on Friday held Pune guardian minister Girish Bapat responsible for additional water cuts not being imposed in the city.
"A couple of months ago, Bapat had ordered release of water to rural Pune though citizens demanded to save that water for the city. Bapat had then assured that there would be no additional water cuts because there is enough water in dams," said Jagtap.
When TOI sought Bapat's reaction, one of his aides said the guardian minister had clarified his stand on the issue earlier.Bapat had insisted earlier that there was "no need to worry" because rains would definitely start in mid-July.
