Hyderabad: The State Bank Staff College at Begumpet was adjudged India's first Indian Green Building Council's (IGBC) rated green campus, with a gold rating under the IGBC rating System.
The campus boasts of green features like 100% rain water harvesting, 64% of landscaped area covered with drought tolerant species and over 200 lush green trees providing shade to 100% of pathways.
It also has 40 kw capacity solar panels installed and has retrofitted major energy consuming equipment such as air-conditioning systems and LED light fixtures.
"Providing a major impetus to CII-Indian Green Building Council's (IGBC) efforts in greening campuses, State Bank Staff College has gained the unique distinction. The SBS college is a unique and a landmark campus with a combination of heritage and contemporary buildings. The campus includes administrative building, residential quarters for the staff and delegates and lecture halls," said S Srinivas, deputy executive director, CII-IGBC. The college offers facilities including yoga and meditation hall, gymnasium, outdoor sports facilities, indoor games and parks.
