Augsburg have signed attacking midfielder Takashi Usami from Japanese outfit Gamba Osaka, the Bundesliga side confirmed on Friday.

The 24-year-old Japan international will strengthen Augsburg' s midfield after penning a four-year deal, which is stipulated until summer 2020.

"It is great that the medical examinations and signature have been processed quickly. Now I am looking forward to getting to know my new teammates and to stand on the pitch with them," Usami told the club' s official homepage.

Augsburg' s new arrival received the jersey number 39 and will train for the first time with his teammates on July 2.

Usami knows the Bundesliga as he played on loan at Bayern Munich (2011-2012) and Hoffenheim (2012-2013) to make overall 23 appearances and two goals.

Augsburg completed the last season on the 12th place of the standings. They encounter Wolfsburg for their season opener on August 27. Endit
