Two boats set on fire at Ennore

Unidentified miscreants set fire to two fibre boats and nets at Ennore on Thursday. Police said the boat owner Ramachandran had parked his boats near the shore and on Thursday night they went up in flames. Fishermen tried to douse the blaze but by then the boats and nets were gutted.
Temple thefts: Miscreants broke into a temple near the Velachery police station and made away with more than Rs 30,000.Police said the temple priest who came to open the temple saw the front lock broken and found the cash from the hundi missing. In a similar case, miscreants attempted to rob three temples near Gumidipoondi on Thursday night and fled after passersby raised an alarm. They broke the locks of two temples but fled when they saw people around.
46 rowdies arrested: Tiruvallur police have rounded up 46 rowdies based on the orders from top brass. Police said the rowdies were wreaking havoc and extroting money. Based on the orders. the police nabbed 46 them taking the total number of rowdies arrested so far to 60.
Woman falls to death: A 26-year-old woman working at a construction site in Kancheepuram fell off the first floor and died on Thursday. Co workers took Selvi to the government hospital but she succumbed to injuries.
