Roles offered to me post wedding are different: Ananya
Ananya shot into the limelight in Mollywood after acting alongside Mohanlal in Shikkar. She became a darling of Kollywood following her debut in Engaeyum Eppothum as Amudha.
She had a low phase post her wedding but the actress seems to be making rapid strides in the industry with a couple of big budget films. While she was part of Telugu director Trivikram Srinivas's movie A'Aa, she is also doing Prithviraj-starrer Tiyaan, scripted by Murali Gopy.
Ananya is happy about the success of A'Aa, in which she played the role of Bhanumathi, Srinivas Avasarala's love interest and the hero, Nithin's sister. 'It is always inspiring to work in Telugu movies. I just love the way the crew supports me. It was the first time I played such a character and I felt really happy,' she says.
Meanwhile, she is eagerly waiting for Tiyaan to start rolling. 'I have a unique character to play in the movie. The director narrated it to me in a very interesting way and I took it up without thinking twice,' Ananya says.
Has marriage affected her career? 'I don't think so. Malayalam film industry has started accepting married actresses now. They are even chosen for the lead roles and it is a positive change. Though I did not feel much difference after marriage, I think the type of characters that I'm offered post marriage has changed. All the roles that I get used to be that of the bubbly chirpy girl but now I am getting more sober and mature characters,' she says.
Ask her about the pregnancy rumours that were doing the rounds, and pat comes the reply. 'I have no idea how such news surfaces. We are happily married but we have no baby plans soon,' she signs off.
