Dubai: With the Eid Al Fitr holidays having been announced for the government and public sectors, the following is the information for various public services and amenities.

Motorists across the UAE will be exempted from parking fees during Eid Al Fitr holiday from July 3 to 8.

Only select branch offices and services of government departments will be open and their operational hours will be shorter — over the Eid Al Fitr break.

This year, the public sector has an extended holiday (nine days) for Eid Al Fitr, starting with Friday [July 1] to Saturday [July 9] and work resuming on July 10. The private sector will have holidays on the first and second day of Eid.

Monday night’s scheduled official moonsighting committee will determine which day is the first day of Eid, Shawwal 1 [Tuesday or Wednesday].

Most government departments close for the Eid break every year, keeping open only emergency services or some offices with shorter timings. The private sector is also generally off work. This year, the private sector holidays for Eid Al Fitr have been confirmed by the UAE government to be from July 6 to July 9 with work resuming on July 10 [four days].

Dubai Health Authority [DHA]:

The Accident and Emergency Section will be open, but all outpatient clinics will remain closed during the Eid holidays and will reopen on July 10 — except for Hatta hospital, as its outpatient clinics will open from 7am to 9pm.

Hospitals and health centres will work as per shift timings and medical practitioners will be on call.

All health centres and premises in Primary Health Care sector will be closed during the Eid Al Fitr holiday from June 3 to 9.

Al Barsha Health Centre and Nad Al Hamar Centre will remain open 24 hours.

Al Lusaily Health Centre will open for five hours from 9am to 2pm on July 3 and 4 and will be closed from July 5 to 8.

Speciality centres like Dubai Diabetes Centre and Dubai Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Centre will remain closed from July 3 to 9.

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs [GDRFA]:

The GDRFA is offering its services during Eid Al Fitr holidays.

Working hours during Eid: From 9am to 1pm between July 3 and July 7.

Dubai Customs:

The following customs centres will be on 24/7 during Eid days: Air Customs Centres in Cargo Village, Dubai Airport Free zone Gate [5], and Dubai Flower Centre.

In Jebel Ali Customs Centres Management, the Jebel Ali Customer Service Centre will be open from 9am until 2pm from Saturday [July 2] till Monday [July 4]. Duty at the centre will resume on July 9.

As for the Customer Service Centre at Port Rashid, working hours on July 3 and 4 will be from 9am to 2pm and normal work hours will resume on July 10.

Slaughterhouses in Abu Dhabi:

The Abu Dhabi Public Slaughterhouse, as well as slaughterhouses in Al Shahama and Al Baniyas will operate from 6am to 7pm on weekdays, and up to 9pm on Thursday and Friday. Meanwhile, Al Wathba Modern Slaughterhouse will start operations at 8am and close at 4pm on Eid days.
