Bihiya railway station master Vimlesh Kumar Pandey was allegedly assaulted by at least 15 local Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers when he was on duty on Friday. AAP workers allegedly entered the panel room from where the station master was regulating the movement of trains and demanded that goods trains should not stop at the Bihiya station. "Since the foot over bridge at the station is dilapidated, people are forced to cross the railway track to buy vegetables, fruits and other items from the local market.
The goods trains are a hindrance for the locals who cross the track to reach the market," said a source.The station master told the agitating AAP workers that their demand had been conveyed to the officials concerned, but the agitators assaulted him. Pandey fell down and sustained injuries in his left eye and nose. "The incident took place at 11am and the movement of trains was disrupted for about 40 minutes," added the source. Ara GRP SHO Parsuram Singh said an FIR would be lodged against the culprits. "Action will be taken against all the AAP workers involved in the attack," he added.
Maoists arrested: Police on Thursday arrested a hardcore Maoist from Raghunathpur-Rampur road under the Haspura police station of Aurangabad district. The arrested Maoist was involved in several crimes committed under the different police station. DSP Sunil Kumar said the arrested Maoist has been identified as a Surendra Rajowar. He was on his way to his village Raghunathpur. On getting information, a team of Haspura police led by SHO Arun Kumar laid a trap and caught him .
Two wanted criminals held: Police on Friday arrested two wanted criminals and recovered two country-made fire arms, one dozen live cartridges and a motorbike from their possession in Gamharia village under Murliganj police station of Madhepura district. ASP Rajesh Kumar said acting on a tip-off , police swung into action and rushed to the identified location. Among those arrested one has been identified as Md Muzzambul of Gamharia village and another as Prince Kumar, a resident of Bariyahi village both under Murliganj PS .
Son kills mother: One Arun Kumar of Badka Bigha village under Daudnagar police station of Aurangabad district chopped his mother to death on Friday after she refused to part with her pension. The deceased has been identified as Kaushleya Ddevi (70). According to eyewitnesses, her son was quarrelling with his father Radheshyam Singh handing over his pension. Trying to resolve the issue, Kaushleya made and attempt to arbitrate into the matter. This made Arun furious and he attacked his mother with a sharp weapon after following which she sustained serious injury. She died in the hospital during treatment.
New Saran zila parishad chairman: While Meena Arun of Marhoura was elected the chairperson of the newly constituted Saran district board on Thursday, Sunil Rai became the vice-chairman.Meena, the wife of mukhiya Arun Singh has represented Marhoura thrice. She secured 37 votes and defeated her nearest rival Gita Sagar Ram who won seven votes. She said, "I will work hard and see to it that the board progresses."Sunil, on the other hand, has represented Sonepur on two previous occasions. Former vice-chairperson Vijai Pratap Singh 'Chunnu' got only 10 votes.administered oath to Meena and Sunil.
