Standing up to her attacker

A B.C. woman now living in the U.K. is getting attention around the world after confronting her attacker in London.

Azmina, a former University of British Columbia student, forced the man to apologize on camera after punching her in the crotch.

The assault happened while she was walking with her boyfriend.

"He wanted to go and grab my crotch, but he swung his arm quite hard and ended up punching it," she told CTV from England. "He violated me. He humiliated me. And then he walked off like he didn't have a care in the world."

Azmina yelled at the man, who appears intoxicated, telling him to stop.

"He turned to me and told me to leave him alone, at which point I flipped out and I said, 'You have some nerve telling me to leave you alone,'" she said.

She mistakenly called 101, the non-emergency line, forgetting England uses 999 as its emergency number.

In her video, the man says: "Azmina, what I've done was totally unacceptable."

"You are a very beautiful woman that I found attractive, but doing that was totally wrong on every level. And I really am sorry."

The video had been viewed more than 120,000 times on Facebook by Thursday.

Azmina said she posted the video because she wanted to "show the world that sexual harassment is never OK.”
