Presented in India for the first time, Rolls Royce launches its new four-seater Drophead

Sprawled in The Great Room at the Four Seasons Hotel, Worli, Rolls-Royce’s ‘Dawn’—presented in India for the first time—resets the benchmark for super-luxury convertibles. The engineers of this new four-seater drophead have paid great attention to Dawn’s roof, which claims to deliver the silence of a wraith when up and operates in just over 20 seconds at a cruising speed of up to 50km/h.
With the roof down, the sensuous lines of Dawn are evident. From the side, the steep rake of the windscreen, the swage line that flows over the rear haunches and the high beltline that rises along the profile, give the impression of effortless dynamism. Open-pore Canadel panelling traces the horse-shoe shape of the rear cabin, whilst the wood on the deck (which can be chosen to suit individual taste) flows down the ‘Waterfall’, the area between the rear seats and around the cabin, clothing the interior door panels. “Dawn is the pinnacle luxury good for India—rare, bespoke and handcrafted to the usual Rolls-Royce hallmark standard, this will be a car for only a select few,” said Paul Harris, Asia Pacific Regional Director.
Among the many guests present at the launch were Ramesh Chouhan, Dino Morea, Siddhanth Kapoor, Shibani Dandekar, Anu Mallik
