Rawalpindi - City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi yesterday said that strict security arrangements have been planned for Youm-ul-Quds and Juma-tul-Widaa.

As many as 1000 well-equipped cops along with police officers would be on duty to guard the devotees in the mosques, Imambargahs and other worships places, he said.

He said that the mosques and Imambargah committee members along with police would conduct thorough body search of all the devotees before entering the mosques and Imambargah places. The cops would be assisted by Elite Force Commandoes, Muhafiz Squads, National Volunteers, Horse riding cops, ladies police and Special Branch officials during the security duty. “Foolproof security will also be ensured on the eve of Youm-ul-Quds,” he said. He added that all the SDPOs and SHOs would patrol in their areas during prayer of Juma-tul-Widda to tackle any terror threat and to maintain law and order situation.

Similarly, the rallies being taken out in connection with Youm-ul-Quds would also be guarded by police, CPO said.

On the other hand, Tehrik Jawanan e Pakistan in collaboration with Palestinian Foundation Pakistan organised round table conference in connection with Youm-ul-Quds in a local hotel.

The conference was attended by TJP Chairman Abdullah Gull, PML-L leader Syed Zafar Ali Shah, Ansar ul Uma President Maulana Fazal ur Rehman Khalil, Majlisul Wahdat ul Muslimin head Raja Nasir Abbas and a large numbers of media men.

Addressing the conference, TJP Chairman Abdullah Gull said that the Israel is number 1 enemy of Pakistan and has been shedding blood of innocent Palestinians. He said that Pakistan and Muslim Umah would never leave Palestinians alone. He urged the international comity to resolve Kashmir and Palestine issues. He said that the TJP would observe Youm-ul-Quds with zeal and fervour in the federal capital. He said that Pakistan made nuclear bomb not for playing but to hit India and Israel. He said Pakistan came into being in the name of Islam and no body can conquer it.
