Netaji told Taipei doc to treat others first

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose died after sustaining 80 per cent burns as a result of a plane crash in Taipei, according to one of the 25 files declassified by the Centre on Wednesday.

Dr T Tsuruta, who treated Netaji after the crash, makes this revelation in a confidential Netaji Inquiry Committee Report, constituted by the Japanese government in 1956.

According to the doctor’s interview, Netaji who was worse off than other crew members, was brought to a hospital in Taihoku after the crash.

Even with his chances of surviving slim, Netaji, who Tsuruta says was in his senses, had asked the doctor to treat other crash victims before tending to him.

In spite of the treatment, the doctor says Netaji died along with some of his crew members, a few days later.
