VADODARA: The government’s move of appointing a three-member committee for helping in investigations of rape case against Dr Jayesh Patel hasn’t gone down well with the Vadodara (rural) police. Sources said that the investigating team isn’t happy with the ‘interference’ of the committee.
“The local cops do get uncomfortable as they feel why the committee from outside has been brought in for the case.
There is a feeling of interference sometimes and the cops have to report to two different authorities,” said a cop.
DGP P P Pandey has formed a special committee on Friday to monitor and help in the investigations of rape case. The committee consisting of Mahisagar SP, N K Amin, Sujata Majmudar, SP, CID (crime) and Bhavna Patel, deputy superintendent, Halol, will help the investigating officials in making a watertight case against Patel. The committee also aims to provide legal advice to the investigating officials and submit strong evidences in the court. The members have visited the university campus to gather more details.
