he Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) arrested a Central Jakarta District Court clerk, along with two other individuals on Thursday evening, in an alleged bribery case.
"Yes, we have made several arrests," said a source from the KPK who declined to be named.
The source also declined to reveal the identities of the arrested suspects. From the suspects, the investigators seized a significant amount of foreign banknotes.
All suspects were taken to the KPK headquarters for questioning on Thursday evening.
In recent months, the KPK had nabbed two registrars of the Jakarta-based court. On April 20, the agency arrested Central Jakarta District Court registrar Edy Nasution for accepting bribes related to the handling of a case review plea at the Supreme Court. Later on June 16, the antigraft body also nabbed North Jakarta District Court clerk Rohadi for receiving bribes from the lawyers of dangdut (Indonesian folk music) singer Saipul Jamil, who received just a three-year prison sentence on June 15, in a child molestation case. Saipul allegedly used Rp 250 million to bribe court officials through Rohadi.
