Al Horford followed Kevin Durant on Twitter and everyone freaked out

NBA free agency is a mere hours away, and like we saw last year, it’s an occasion that’s made for Twitter — for the good and the bad.

ESPN reported Thursday that the Oklahoma City Thunder will try to bring Hawks center Al Horford to OKC in hopes of pairing him with Kevin Durant. Both Durant and Horford are free agents.

With rumors circulating around Horford and Durant on the same team, many thought it was odd that Horford’s most recent follow on Twitter was Durant and assumed that it was a development that happened on Thursday. But it wasn’t — Horford followed Durant on June 18.

Still, Twitter freaked out in time to welcome another dramatic NBA free-agency period.

July 1 is almost upon us. Let the games begin.
