Matt Moore's performance in the Tampa Bay Rays' 4-0 win over the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday not only helped the team chalk up a much-needed win but also could have added to the left-hander's trade value.

Rumor Central

Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times writes that interest is picking up around Moore, and the Texas Rangers are one team that is hot on the pitcher's trail. Three or four other clubs are expected to join the pursuit, per Topkin.

ESPN's Buster Olney also alluded to the team potentially being prepared to act on the interest in Moore in his Thursday MLB roundup, saying that "the Rays have signaled to other teams that they are prepared to talk about trading players."

That contradicts Rays president of baseball operations Matt Silverman saying that the team wasn't ready to call itself "sellers" earlier in the week.

Moore, 27, is posting a 4.67 ERA with 90 strikeouts and a 1.32 WHIP this year. The southpaw was one of the top pitchers in the American League before undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2014.
