Three burglars held, booty of Rs 72,000 recovered
Pune: The Chandannagar police arrested three burglars and recovered valuables worth Rs 72,000 from them on Wednesday.
A police team led by senior inspector Anil Patrudkar arrested Akshay Galande (21), Vinod Brahmarakshas (24) and Farukh Shaikh (21), all from Chandannagar for breaking into three houses and stealing valuables like laptops and LPG cylinders.

While Galande already has eight burglary cases registered against him, Brahmarakshas has three cases against him.
Vitthal Zanzurne, sub-inspector of the Chandannagar police station told TOI that Galande was taken into custody after he was seen walking suspiciously near a market in Chandannagar. "We brought him to the police station for questioning," he said.
During which, Galande revealed that he along with Brahmarakshas and Shaikh had broken into an apartment in Chandannagar, two days ago. "The suspects entered the flat through a toilet window and made away with valuables like LPG cylinders and home theatre," Zanzurne said.
The broke into two more houses in the same area. "We have recovered valuables worth Rs 72,000," Zanzurne added.
Cellphone thief in net
The police team also arrested a cellphone thief from Vimannagar on Wednesday. Police recovered three cellphones and a motorcycle, collectively worth Rs 43,500 from him.

The suspect Akash Mohan Waghmare (21), a resident of Vimannagar, used to steal cellphones from people in the vegetable market.
He used to divert the customer's attention and steal their cell phone. "He admitted to have stolen a motorcycle, which we have recovered," Patrudkar added.
The Chandannagar police on Wednesday detected three recent burglaries with the arrest of three men including two burglars on police records. The police have recovered booty worth Rs 72,000 including cell phones, laptop and LPG cylinders.
The police said the suspects Akshay Galande (21), Vinod Brahmarakshas (24) and Farukh Shaikh (21) are all from Chandannagar. Galande has eight cases of burglaries and Brahmarakshas has three cases registered against him. The Chandannagar police team led by senior inspector Anil Patrudkar arrested them.
Vitthal Zanzurne, sub-inspector of the Chandannagar police station told TOI that he and his colleagues noticed Galande and Brahmarakshas walking in suspicious manner near a market at Chandannagar. "We took them into custody and brought them to the police station for questioning," Zanzurne said.
He said that during the questioning Galande admitted that two days ago, they broken-into a flat in Chandannnagar area. "The suspects had entered into the flat through the toilet window and made away with the booty including LPG cilynders and home theatre," Zanzurne said.
He said that the suspects revealed their involement in two more house-break-ins in Chandannagar area. "We have recovered booty worth Rs 72,000 from the trio," Zanzurne said.
Inspector Patrudkar said that his team on Wednesday also arrested a mobile thief and recovered three stolen cell phones and a motorcycle collectively worth Rs 43,500 from him. The police said the suspect Akash Mohan Waghmare (21) is a resident of Vimannagar.
Patrudkar said that Waghmare used to steal the cell phone from persons coming for purchasing vegetables in the market. Waghmare used to divert their attention and used to steal the cell phone from their pockets. "Waghmare also admitted that he had stolen one motorcycle. We have recovered the motorcycle from him," Patrudkar added.
