Experienced goalkeeper Stephen Bywater has signed a new one-year deal with Burton.
The 35-year-old arrived at the club in January and will now stay on as the Brewers tackle the Sky Bet Championship.
Albion boss Nigel Clough told the club's official website: "It's great news Stephen is staying. He works very well with Jon McLaughlin, providing us with experienced cover, and has been a very positive presence around the club since joining."
Bywater added: "It's exciting and hopefully we can continue from last season doing well and being together as a unit. I'm very pleased and happy.
"I'm hoping we will surprise a few people. I'm sure we will if the lads listen to the gaffer and take note of his experience. He will get a good squad together and we will do okay."
