Install CCTV cameras even outside bank premises: DM

Munger district magistrate Uday Kumar Singh has asked the members of security advisor board of banks of the district at a review meet held on Thursday to install CCTV cameras even outside the bank premises facing roads to help police in identifying the criminals when they flee after committing crime. The DM apprised the bankers about the increasing incidents of cash loot cash either from the premises of the bank or customers after they withdraw cash from the bank.
Meanwhile, police have not been able to make a breakthrough in the sensational loot of Rs 10 lakh from the driver of a construction company here even after three weeks.
Revenue dept staff held on graft charge: A vigilance team on Thursday nabbed a revenue department employee on graft charge from Khagaria district, an official release said. Acting on a complaint, a Vigilance Investigation Bureau (VIB) team headed by DSP Vinjay Kumar Singh laid a trap and nabbed revenue department employee Upendra Thakur accepting Rs 15,000 as bribe at his rented accommodation located near Beldaur block office from one Abdus Salam Rahmani. Thakur, posted at Beldaur circle office, had demanded Rs 15,000 as bribe from Rahmani for mutation of his land, the release said. The tainted employee was being brought to the vigilance headquarters at Patna for interrogation, it said.
Man kills wife: One Kundan Sharma beheaded his wife with a sharp weapon on Wednesday night at Faijalpur village under Uphara police station of the district. The deceased was identified as a Monna Devi. Police sources said on Wednesday night some quarrel took place between the husband and the wife over some domestic issue and the situation turned violent. In a fit of rage, Kundan attacked his wife with a sharp weapon. Locals admitted her to Goh PHC where the doctors referred her to some bigger medicare centre. She died on way to Gaya, said police.
Three get 20yrs jail in rape case: Additional district and sessions judge (ADJ)-1 BB Singh sentenced Anil Paswan, Rajesh Choudhary and Awadhesh Yadav to 20 years imprisonment in a gang rape case on Thursday. The Ara court also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 each on the accused. The case pertains to November 13, 2014, when six persons, 3 of them juvenile, raped a 19-year-old girl of Jagdispur when she had gone to an orchard to attend the nature's call. All the accused and the victim belongs to Jagdispur.
