A Journey into Another World is a memoir of McCarthy's travels on the border of Suriname and Brazil. With the support of missionaries in the area who provided guides to the author, the journey was completed successfully.

Mr. McCarthy Sr. and his family moved to Suriname, South America because of work changes and lived there for four years. In 1970, his wife and children went on vacation to Costa Rica while he ventured into this "journey into another world."

As a realization, McCarthy says, "I learned from them that all we need are basics to live a complete, satisfying life. The jungle sights and sounds were most filling and I carry them with me yet."

To know more about McCarthy's book, you may visit LitFire's booth at BookExpo America (BEA) on May 11–13, 2016 at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois. BEA is the biggest gathering of booksellers, librarians, retailers, publishers, rights, licensing, and book industry professionals in North America.
