Residents said that the entire stretch in their area was dug and pipelines were laid a month ago.

Entering our house itself is risky as the trench remain open, residents added.

Residents said that during rainy days, the road turns out to be slushy and walking on it is too dangerous.

They added that children and elderly and other residents face uphill task in crossing the area as water stagnates in the trench.

They wanted the trench to be closed before untoward incidents happen.

Corporation officials said that testing of water pipelines is in progress and the trench would be closed after that. They added that leakages in pipes could be attended only if the trench remains opened.
