Asrani says comedy is vulgar today
Veteran actor and comedian Asrani, known for his roles in films like 'Bawarchi', 'Namak Haram' and later, ones like 'Dhamaal' and 'Hera Pheri', feels that comedy has become vulgar over the years. The actor who has been around for five decades in Bollywood told a publication that earlier there were two schools of comedy ' the Bimal Roy school (realistic) and Madras school (subtle). He added that Bimal Roy never kept comedy out of the story line while the latter was another track but was never vulgar.
But now it has come down to terrible stuff.

On his last film, 'Mastizaade', an adult comedy, he admitted that he was felt embarrassed working in the film.
